I was hesitant at first, but it was SO worth it in the end! I did have to wait a little extra due to a mistake I made in the molding process, but the Say Cheese Club communicated very quickly, kept me updated, and they gave very detailed instructions. Compared to dropping $500 at the ortho for new retainers, I only paid a slim price compared to what they would ask for. These retainers are very durable and amazing! I would beg to differ in saying that these are better than the ones you get from the dentist/ortho. They even provide a very nice holder for your retainers, and if you pair it with an ultrasonic retainer cleaner, you’re golden for years. Thank you Say Cheese Club for fixing me up! 100% recommend.

Teeth drift. After braces or aligners come off, they tend to creep back toward where they started — which is why a retainer isn’t the end of orthodontic treatment so much as the part that makes it stick.
A clear retainer is a thin, transparent shell molded to the exact shape of your teeth. Its only job is to hold your teeth where orthodontic treatment left them. That makes it different from a clear aligner, which is designed to move teeth a little at a time — a retainer keeps the result you already paid for.
Most people get their first retainer the day their braces or aligners come off. The second one usually comes later — after a retainer is lost on a lunch tray, cracked in a bag, chewed by a dog, or simply worn down until it stops seating properly. If your old retainer feels tight, that’s usually a sign your teeth have started drifting and it’s worth speaking to your dentist before forcing it.
There are three common types. A Hawley retainer uses an acrylic plate with a visible wire across the front — adjustable and durable, but noticeable. A bonded or fixed retainer is a thin wire cemented behind the front teeth — permanent, invisible from the front, and harder to floss around.
